Palokorva settlements and blast furnace. Car parking near the road 395 and walk abt 400 meters.
Palokorva blast furnace was part of the extensive Kengis Works. It came to characterize the interior of Tornedalen. Kengis Works was founded in the 1640s, giving the area permanent settlements. An iron mine and blast furnace in Masugnsbyn, blast furnaces at Tornefors and Palokorva and the power hammers at Kengis Foundry led to the first communities in the area.
