Geocache Description:

This geocache is along the shores of Burrard Inlet. Situated in Cates Park, the cache is in North Vancouver along a very scenic coastline. A parking lot and boat launch rests on the east side of where the cache is located. A trail that leads slightly past this will get you to the cache area. Look for a large tree stump with a younger tree growing out of it and you are pretty much there.

The cache is a clear Lock & Lock container with a log book and a small pencil. I suggest you bring a pen just incase the pencil is broken or worn out. This cache is designed for geocoins or really small travel bugs. Cates Park is a really great place to spend the day and have a barbeque. The used to be a native village way back when.

Takya tours is a kayak rental company that services the Burrard Inlet region with various tours and kayak rentals.

The cache can be accessed by kayak, but more commonly by land via a trail. Inside the cache is a logbook with a stash note in a baby carrot bag (the only bag that was really suitable for the cache) I also put some bag closer type things in the cache as trading items, please take one to trade something else.

When finding the cache, look for wierdly placed rotten log matter, behind that matter is no doubt the cache. The cache is placed next to an old rotting stump, I always find it facinating when another tree grows out of it. The trail is west of the boat launch, when I was hiding it, I could not see a trail at first, but look around for a trail or an easy place to access the cache. The cache is along the inlet away from the tideline but close to the waters edge. You will have to go off the trail down a hill and too a high stump with a tree growing out of it. The cache is along the south side of this stump (along the side facing the rocky beach)

When the cache is found, please put some of the wrotten log matter back to re-hide the cache for others to find.

Good luck on your mission
