Geocache Description:

My oldest daughter likes the letterboxes and we wanted to do a letterbox hide up here. If you are not familiar with these, the stamp is not for trade, but to stamp your book with. You may stamp the log book with your stamp or leave your fingerprint on the log with your signature. The cache also has a few trade items and starts with a travel bug.

This cache is near a small clearing that has always been a great place to relax and clear my mind. (The family has a cabin nearby) In the evening, there are frequently deer grazing nearby and occasionally moose. There are always the ubiquitous potguts scurrying about. The hiking trails in the area have provided a lifetime of recreation to our family. The cache is between 2 trails that connect Silver Lake with the Camp Tuttle area, and near the starting points of the Twin Lake and Lake Solitude trails. I took a series of GPS readings and tried to get the best consensus, but it shouldn't be too difficult with the clue.

Addendum 9-1-2014; The Forest service has closed a trail that the cabin owners and Camp Tuttle guests have used for 50+ years. This was the fastest way to this cache. They also are enforcing rules about Silver lake boardwalk guests not going off trail. Therefore, I'll tell you the best and legal way to get to the area of the cache if approaching from Silver lake. Go on the boardwalk trail to the point where it splits off and goes towards the Twin Lake and Lake Solitude trails. Right before you arrive at the point where the trail splits and goes to either Twin or Solitude, you will see another trail that goes towards camp Tuttle and the cabins. (our remaining trail for us to use.) Take that to the general area of the cache or take it to where in goes into the cabin road. About 30-40 ft, to the right, there is another trail that goes back towards Silver lake. This will take you right to the cache. You will still have to go back around the way you came.
