Zenkitty (Jim) was able to realize two big dreams during the last few years. First, he visited Scotland, land of his roots, with his family. Then a year later, he attended his daughter's graduation.
If you have a special memory of Jim, please share it in on this page, either as a "note" or as a "will attend" message. That way those who didn't know him will know something of him before being at the event.
This is a simple event from 7:30 to 8:30 pm or a bit later if folks are still visiting - join other cachers and watch trains go by. A few of us will bring snacks. You are welcome to add to the goodies, although it is not at all necessary.
I'll start with a few of my memories:
- Jim loved trains, and built an impressive model railroad layout. He knew more about my Dad's old train set than I did and gladly taught me about it and shared books. This is the reason for the location of the event.
- Jim enjoyed placed "chirp" style caches, and I groaned to him about them because my GPS doesn't pick up chirp signals. He tormented me with the idea of placing one that involved half a dozen chirps, and I pleaded to be the beta tester so that I wouldn't have to borrow someone else's GPS to find it.
Now it's up to you. Share your story - if you didn't know him, maybe it's just about finding one of his caches. If you did know him, maybe it's a story about your time together.
And whether you knew him or not, come to the event to learn more. And hope that many trains go by.
Note 1: There will be a special cache placed for Zenkitty later this year. We request that you anticipate patiently.
Note 2: Zenkitty's caches are up for adoption. Send a message to ohjoy! if you would like to adopt any of them.
