Geocache Description:

Located on the south end of Lake Hoskins, just east of a historic monument on public land.

Lake Hoskins is a regional recreation lake located about 4 miles west of Ashley, ND, adjacent to ND Highway 11. There is public boat access, picnic area, restrooms, campground and most other amenities of a small lake.

I had driven by this location for work several times over the last few months since I moved back to North Dakota and thought this would be a great spot for a cache, and finally remembered to bring one with me this time.

The cache is located just a east of a historical marker on the south end of the lake. It is a mowed area and is easily accessible. The historic monument marks the original site of Hoskins, the first settlement in McIntosh county and was established in 1884. The monument was constructed out of local rocks and the names were chiseled into the monument by Herb Larimer, an Ashley pioneer.

Cache is a powdered drink mix container covered in camo tape and is about 2" in diameter and 5" tall, large enough to hold small trade items. Original contents include a FTF dollar in cold hard cache, log, stash sheet, and some glow stick toys for kids.

BYOP... I forgot to put a pen or pencil in the cache, if someone could leave one I would appreciate it!
