This cache used to be the final for a multi-cache. But Waypoint #1 was constantly getting damaged/muggled so, say good-bye to the multi-cache.
Parking for the cache is a small gravel lot on the south side of 4th St. E. a block before the road dead-ends at a bridge. There is no parking allowed on the road between the parking area and the bridge.
When Milgard Windows expanded their manufacturing plant they also created a Natural Area just west of Hylebos Creek. Then the state, tribes and the federal government developed a joint project just east of the Milgard area known as the Hylebos Estuary Wetlands Project. Combining the trails of the two areas gives a nice walk of less than 1/2 mile that crosses the creek twice and provides views of wildlife, in season, and a nice place to enjoy nature.
From the parking area, head east on 4th St. E., cross the bridge and enjoy you walk. As you cross the bridge, note which way the water is flowing. Normally the water flows north toward Commencement Bay. But generally twice daily as it approached high tide the flow stops and even reverses with water then flowing south.
