Billerhuder Insel
Auf der Billhuder Insel befindet sich eine der größten Kleingärtensiedlungen von Europa mit ca. 2000 Gärten. Dieses Kleingartenparadies besteht seit 1921.
Die Insel mit 38 Hektar ist durch Sandaufschüttungen entstanden.
Durch die alliierten Luftangriffe ab Juli 1943 wurde der Stadtteil Hamm fast völlig zerstört. Die Überlebenden flohen aufs Land und zogen in Notunterkünfte und Schrebergarten-Häuschen auf der Billhuder Insel, die unmittelbar hinter dem östlichen Teil von Hamm-Süd in Rothenburgsort liegt und von der Bille und dem Bullenhuser Kanal umschlossen wird.
Später wurde diese Gegend dann die größte Kleingartensiedlung Hamburgs. Die damaligen Bewohner behielten aber ihr Wohnrecht. Wenn sich nun jemand mit dortigem Wohnrecht abmeldet, verliert er seinen Anspruch. Sollte die Parzelle dann frei werden, wird es ein Schrebergarten und das Wohnen ist dort verboten.
Nun zum Cache:
Es handelt sich hier um einen Multicache mit 3 Stationen und dem Final, den man zu Fuß oder mit dem Fahrrad absolvieren kann. Das Auto sollte am Startpunkt abgestellt werden, da in den Kleingärten kein Durchgangsverkehr erwünscht ist.
Die Strecke beträgt 2,5 km und ist ein Rundkurs.
Die Koordinaten können 3-4m abweichen.
Start bei N 53°32.731, E 010°03.632. Parken könnt Ihr Vorort.
Hier sucht die Infotafel und beantwortet folgende Frage:
Welche Parzelle (ohne Buchstabe) hat der Vereinsplatz? = A
Auf geht’s zur 1. Station:
N 53° 32.(288+A), E 010°03.(A-155)
Hier müsst Ihr die Koordinaten für die 2. Station suchen.
Bei Station 2 angekommen, nehmt Euch den Wegnamen und errechnet die nächste Station mit A=1, B=2, C=3, …usw. und addiert die Zahlen zusammen. Das ergibt B.
Berechne Station 3:
N53°32.(A+B-51), E 010°03.(B*3+330+A)
Hier angekommen, schaut in Richtung Südost und zählt die verbundenen Schornsteine (=C).
Nun geht’s auf zum Final!
N53°32.((A-B)*C+97), E010°03.(A*C+B*C+69)
Hier seid vorsichtig beim Bergen des Caches. Das Bergen ist für Kinder kaum möglich. Es ist kein Grundstück zu betreten!
Der Cache bietet begrenzten Platz zum Tauschen für Coins und TBs. Die Zielkoordinate kann ca. 10m abweichen
Um zum Startpunkt/Parkplatz zu gelangen, geht einfach den Weg geradeaus weiter.

Billerhuder Island
On the Billerhuder Island you find with around 2000 gardens one of the biggest European allotment colonies. This allotment paradise was founded in 1921.
The island has an area of 38 hectare and was filled up with sand.
The quarter Hamm was almost completely destroyed by the allied air raids during July, 1943 almost completely. The survivors fled to the countryside and moved into either emergency shelters or the small houses of the allotment gardens on the Billhuder island. The island lies immediately behind the eastern part of Hamm-Süd in Rothenburgsort and is surrounded by the Bille river and the Bullenhuser canal.
Then later this area became the biggest allotment colony of Hamburg. However, the inhabitants at that time kept their residential rights. If now somebody moves and lives somewhere els, he loses his residential right. Should the house become vacant, it becomes an allotment garden and the permanent living is not allowed any longer.
The cache:
It is a multicache with 3 stations and the final. You can take a walk or go by bicycle. Please leave your car at the starting point because they are not seen very easily driving through the allotments. The distance is around 2,5km and is a roundtrip.
The coordinates can differ about 3-4 meters.
Start at N 53°32.731, E 010°03.632. You can park your car here.
Please search for the info board and answer following question:
Which allotment number (without letter) has the place of the allotment club (= “Vereinsplatz”)? This is = A
Go then to station 1:
N 53° 32.(288+A), E 010°03.(A-155)
Here you have to search for the coordinates of the 2nd station.
At station 2 you have to take the road name and calculate A=1, B=2, C=3,… etc..
Add the numbers together and you get B.
Calculate for station 3:
N53°32.(A+B-51), E 010°03.((B*3)+(330+A))
When you arrived at station 3 please have a look towards a southeastern direction and add the combined chimneys. This is C.
Let’s go to the final now!

Here please be careful at hiding the cache. You do not have to enter any private ground!
The cache has enough space for changing Coins and TBs.
