Find Brian Snat's Ammo Can #10, v2.0 Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Ramsey LtD: I finally was able to get over here to check on this one. A large tree fell across the rock formation where this had been hidden and, if it’s still there, is totally inaccessible. For that reason, I am archiving this cache much to my chagrin. A beautiful area, but not many folks venture up here. Sorry to all those who looked in vain.

Geocache Description:

This is part of the Brian Snat Ammo Can series of twelve caches. This updated cache replaces the original one that I chose to archive for several reasons: 1) It was originally a multi-cache that suffered repeated problems with the first stage; 2) I was not happy with the lack of visits due to its location; 3) The container was overdue for maintenance/overhaul. I didn't want to break the series so I am launching Version 2.0!

This cache is a well stocked .30 cal. ammo can hidden in the Hamburg Mountain Wildlife Management Area. Several other caches are also hidden in the area. It is generally accessible by car on a gravel/rock/hardpack "road" but there may be times of year when a 4WD vehicle may facilitate travel. (ie. snow cover, washed out spots after heavy rain, etc.) The area near the hiding spot is quite scenic, so you may want to bring a camera with you. The cache locale is an easy walk from the road with an obvious pull-in spot to park your vehicle. Be aware that there is a variety of wildlife in the area so be diligent of your surroundings. Be sure to have safety orange vest/jacket/hat during hunting seasons. There is a rock fire circle in the clearing nearby with signs of recent use by evening party-goers (presumably teens), so please be certain the cache is well hidden before you leave. Nov. 6, 2020 -- I thought about archiving this but being that it is ten years old and is in honor of Brian Snat, a geocaching charter member, I decided to keep it alive. It is now in a new location to help prevent problems with muggles.
