Geocache Description:

A short multi-cache in a unique monument, just off Tel Aviv beach.

After the Nazis rose to power in 1933, the persecution of Jews in Europe intensified. Jewish immigration out of Europe escaping the Nazis became critical. Alas, the British authorities who ruled Palestine (as this area was known before the establishment of the State of Israel) severely restricted Jewish immigration. The effort to bring Jews in despite the British restrictions in the years 1934-1948 was called "Aliyah B", and later "Ha'apala".

At the posted coordinates you will find a sign. This is the entrance point to the garden that now hosts the Ha'apala monument. In what year was the garden inaugurated? Mark it as 19AB.

Proceed down to N 32° 04.698 E 034° 46.032. You should be in front to a wall, broken into C pieces, all shaped as a wave. On the walls there is a full historical review of all Ha'apala operations, including the fate of each ship and its passengers.

Go south to N 32° 04.672 E 034° 46.024. Looking north you will notice the bow of a symbolic ship (see photo). On the west side of the ship there are plaques describing Ha'apala before WWII, while on the east side is the post-war story. How many ships arrived before and during World War II? Mark it as DE.

Finally, go to N 32° 04.697 E 034° 46.026, and look for a plaque facing the beach. Read the stories about some of the tragedies that were inflicted on the Ha'apala ships. How many people survived the Struma disaster? Mark it as F.

Now let:
X = B+C
Y = A-F
Z = E-B
The tiny magnetic cache is at N 32° 04.DXY E 034° 46.0FZ.
