Esta cache tem como objectivo dar a conhecer o jardim de Vendas
Novas. Um espaço verde para passear e apreciar.
This cache’s goal
is to get people to know the garden of Vendas Novas. This is a
green area where you can take a walk and enjoy yourself.
É, de facto,
um lugar especial. Foi projectado numa área anteriormente ocupada
por duas explorações agrícolas parcialmente abandonadas onde
existiam dois pomares, árvores de grande porte e diversas
estruturas hidráulicas tradicionais -
poços, tanques e caleiras de irrigação - , algumas delas
aproveitadas para as fontes, repuxos e cascatas que tanto
contribuem para a sensação de frescura que se respira no actual
jardim.
It is in fact a very
special place. It was projected in an area previously occupied by
two partially abandoned agricultural explorations, where there were
two orchards, large size trees and several traditional hydraulic
structures – wells, water tanks… -, some of which were
used for the fountains and waterfalls that greatly contribute for
the feeling of freshness that you can breathe in the current
garden.
Este espaço
está estruturado por dois eixos principais que atravessam o
interior do Parque. Um eixo liga a entrada norte, junto à EN 4, à
entrada sul, onde fica a Biblioteca e Auditório Municipais e o
bloco comercial. O percurso atravessa um terreiro rodeado por um
pomar de laranjeiras, o anfiteatro, o espelho de água e o lago,
envolvidos por extensos relvados. O bar com esplanada é muito
utilizado durante o tempo quente mas está aberto todo o
ano.
This area is
structured by two main axes that cross the Park’s interior.
One of the axes connects the north entrance (near the EN 4) to the
south entrance, where the Municipal Library and Auditorium are
located, together with the commercial block. The path crosses an
area surrounded by an orange orchard, the amphitheatre, the water
mirror and the water pond, encircled by extensive lawns. The bar is
most popular during the hot season, but it’s open all year
long.
O outro eixo é
um circuito ondulante que percorre diversos equipamentos, como é o
caso do ringue de patins e skates, das
grandes gaiolas com pássaros e do parque infantil, este
recentemente renovado e dotado de grande variedade de brinquedos
para diferentes faixas etárias.
The other axis is a
wavy circuit that passes by several structures, as the skateboard
and roller skating rink, the big birdcages and the kids’
park, the latter having been recently renewed and given a great
variety of toys for different age groups.
Sempre
impecavelmente tratado, este frondoso Jardim é um ponto de encontro
e de convívio entre forasteiros e gente da terra de todas as
idades, onde sabe bem passear, estar calmamente a observar as aves
que ali vivem e nidificam, entreter o olhar com os peixes,
tartarugas e patos que nadam no lago, tomar uma bebida fresca na
esplanada e, durante os fins de semana de Julho e Agosto,
participar nos espectáculos culturais das “Noites de
Verão” que aqui acontecem no grande anfiteatro ao ar
livre.
O Jardim Público de Vendas Novas foi
inaugurado no dia 20 de Novembro de 1993.
Always impeccably taken
care of, this Garden is a meeting and mingling point for locals and
outsiders of all ages. It’s a place where it feels good to go
for a stroll, to calmly observe the birds that live and nest in
there, to entertain the eye with the fish, tortoises and ducks that
swim in the pond, to have a cool drink… You can also enjoy
the cultural events of the “Noites de Verão” (Summer
Nights) that take place in the big outdoors amphitheatre during the
weekends of July and August.
The Public Garden of Vendas Novas was inaugurated on the 20th
November 1993.

barco de piratas sobre o comando de um capitão malvado que saqueava
todo o que passava pelo caminho. Antes de o barco naufragar o
capitão e a sua tripulação levaram o tesouro para um sítio na

Cache
Once upon a time there was
a pirate ship under the command of an evil captain, who looted
everything that crossed his way. Before the shipwreck, the captain
and his crew took the treasure to a nearby location.
To find this treasure you’ll first have to solve the
skull’s puzzle (see picture below), which will take you to
the first coordinates.

Once you arrive at the place indicated by the first coordinates
you’ll be standing before a very familiar object. Check
underneath it and you’ll get the final coordinates, where the
treasure is.
