You are looking for a Small Cache located at the entrance of a
cave close to the Camping Area Trail of the forest. This trail
begins at camping area and ends on the pavement trail which is part
of Road PR-621, but is closed to motor vehicle transit. Only forest
personnel, service providers and researchers from the Puertorican
Parrot aviary can use cars in this segment of the road.Walking is
allowed.
After reach parking area, enter in Camping Area (there is an
opening on both sides of the gate), begin to walk until you reach
Waypoint #3 (where the trail begins) and continue walking to
Waypoint #4 ("Cedro Macho" tree spot). Then, at your right you will
see a little trail that goes up. Follow that trail until you reach
GZ.
When you are done, return to Waypoint #4. If you are in a hurry
return back trough the trail at your left. If you wants to finish
the trail or continue to Cueva Abajo Cache, make a right and
continue the trail. Depends on your Physical conditions and weather
you may need an additional hour and a half to finish the trail.
Cache content is log sheet, pin for the FTF, The Simpsons action
figure (Barny), little compass and Keychain from 24 TV Series. The
container is small white with orange cap.

Estás buscando un cache tamaño pequeño que está escondido en la
entrada de una cueva que está cerca de la vereda que comienza en el
área de acampar del Bosque. Esta vereda inicia en el área de
acampar y termina en la única vereda pavimentada del Bosque. Esta
vereda es parte de la carretera PR-621 pero está cerrada para el
tránsito de vehículos de motor. Sólo personal del bosque,
proveedores de de servicios y los investigadores del Aviario de la
Cotorra Puertorriqueña pueden usar vehículos de motor en este
segmento de la carretera. Caminar está permitido.
Después de estacionar, entra al área de acampar, hay dos puntos
sin verja a los extremos del portón. Comienza a caminar hacia el
Waypoint #3 (donde inicia la vereda) y continúa caminando hasta
alcanzar el Waypoint #4 (el punto donde ubica un Cedro Macho). Ahí,
a tu derecha podrás observar una pequeña vereda que sube al monte.
Síguela hasta que llegues a la Cueva o al GZ.
Cuando termines, regresa al Waypoint #4. Si tienes prisa regresa
por la vereda a la izquierda al punto de origen. Si quieres
terminar la vereda o visitar el Cache Cueva Abajo haz una derecha
en la vereda y síguela. Dependiendo de tu condición física y el
clima, podrás necesitar aproximadamente una hora y media para
terminar la vereda.
El cache contiene la hoja para firmar, pin para el FTF, figura
de acción de Los Simpsons (Barny), una brújula pequeña y un llavero
de la Serie de TV 24. El contenedor es un envase pequeño blanco con
tapa anaranjada.

Río Abajo State Forest is located west of the Dos Bocas Lake
Reservoir. It covers an area of approximately 2,280 hectares and
its elevations range between 656.1 and 1,391 feet (200 and 424
meters). This large forest is in the heart of the karst country,
with very rugged formations, an extensive trail system and a
visitors center.
The Rio Abajo Forest Reserve was established in 1943. The
massive reserve is situated between the Dos Bocas Lake and the
Tanamá River and this lends itself to the unusual topography of the
region. It is quite common to find caves, sinkholes and small hills
within close proximity to each other in the reserve.
The forest is under the supervision of the National and
Environmental Resources Department of Puerto Rico. Camping is
allowed by permit only. The camping area provides for 40 persons,
the cost is $4 for adults and $2 for kids. For permits or more

How to Get There: From San Juan, take Road PR-22 toward
Arecibo. Take PR-10 exit toward Utuado, and continue until Waypoint
#1.

El Bosque Estatal de Río Abajo, ubicado en los municipios de
Utuado y Arecibo, entre el río Tanamá y el lago Dos Bocas, es uno
de cinco bosques estatales que fueron designados en 1943 mediante
transferencia de propiedad llevada a cabo por la Administración de
Reconstrucción de Puerto Rico (P.R.R.A.). Estos bosques protegen la
cuenca hidrográfica del Río Grande de Arecibo y son parte del
manejo de sistemas forestales.

Cómo Llegar: Desde San Juan tomar la PR-22 en dirección a
Arecibo. Al llegar a la Salida de la PR-10, salir en dirección
hacia Utuado (sur) y continuar hasta llegar al Waypoint #1.
