Site 4 on the Golden Quest Discovery Trail
In October 1893, word of yet another rich strike rippled through the Coolgardie camps. Billy Frost, Bob Bonner, Alec Cellis and Alec Nesbit had arrived in town with 50 ounces of gold they’d found some 70 miles to the north-west. They warned that the track was absolutely without water – the same old story gold but no water.
Fast Facts!
None of the graves at the old Siberia Cemetery are actually of those who perished in the initial rush. The first burial was that of James McCormick in February 1895, with three other burials occurring soon after, including that of a murder Victim James Anderson, The last Known Burial was 1925.
