Small Tupperware located on the Sitka Cross trail, less than a mile from the Gavan hill trailhead. Also less than a mile from the Sitka High school and Keet Gooshi Heen Elementary School trail access points. Some stairs, packed dirt path.
Sitka Cross Trail is a 2.2 mile path through a wooded area north of town. It has multiple access points, is a favorite for joggers and locals looking for a quiet, mostly level walk through old growth forest.
Gavan Hill trail starts at the end of Baranof Street. There is a small parking area with room for three cars. Trail is planked over the bog area, climbing steeply after the Cross trail intersection. Total length of Harbor Mountain/Gavan Hill trail 6 miles one way, with 2,500 feet elevation gain.
For the Keet Gooshi Heen Elementary access, turn up Kashevaroff Street from Halibut Point Road. For the Sitka High School access, turn up Peterson Avenue from Halibut Point Road.

Cache is a 8x8x4 inch tupperware. GPS lock in the woods was difficult.
Please help keep this and other caches from becoming a chew toy for hungry bears. Do not place food items or items with a scent (toothpaste, Listerine strips, shampoo) in caches. Also please remember this is a kid-friendly activity, no items that a 4 year old should not be playing with (lighters, sharp objects).
A local friend has generously offered to maintain the cache while I'm away.
