A year ago the first caches of this serie was dropped in Corsica (Europe) by a colleague. Since that moment a lot has changed… Nevertheless let’s start with the same phrase as the previous caches.
Me and my colleagues have been in countries far away like Congo, Rwanda, Somalia, Kosovo, Lebanon, Afghanistan and many others.
This time it is different… a few months ago our Government and Ministry Of Defense decided to shut down our unit and all paratroopers will be relocated,so, this will most likely be the last cache of 1 Para on the road.
Whatever happens, whenever it happens… our credo will always be Never Surrender so, when you log this cache think about our job, visit our site and think for a while… this can also happen to your unit.
Aren’t we all a band of brothers?
1 Para, also known as the 1st Batallion Paracommando from Belgium, http://www.para-cdo.be/1Para/disclaimer.htm , was in Porganmoen - Norway from May 2010 till June 2010 for a paracommando training exercise .
Although we were there in June our troops learned about the way of life in this part of Europe this time of the year… 24/7 light, hicking in difficult terrain with snow (!!) and ice (!!), shooting activities and abseiling… What a time…
We were told we will come back, and when we do so I really look forward to read your log in the probably last cache of 1 Para on the Road…
