Hier befindet Ihr Euch bei den Überbleibseln der Tongrube in
Körner.
Hier wurde bis in die späten 70-er Jahre Ton abgebaut.
Am westlichen Ende der ehemaligen Ziegeleigrube ist ein bedeutsames
Lössprofil erkennbar. Bereits in den 80-er Jahren erfolgte der
Schutz des hier anzufindenden Bodendenkmals als
"Flächennaturdenkmal" durch den Kreistag in Mühlhausen.
Diese Bodenaufschichtung entstand in verschiedenen Perioden der
Weichseleiszeit (ca. 115.000 - 10.000 Jahre vor heute).
Bei regelmäßiger Pflege des Bodenprofils sind die unterschiedlichen
Bodenschichten gut zu erkennen.
In der Nähe der Koordinaten befindet sich auch eine
Informationstafel, die bei der Beantwortung der Fragen hilfreich
sein könnte.
Zum Loggen macht bitte ein Foto von Euch mit Eurem GPS an den
angegebenen Koordinaten vor der Erdwand und beantwortet folgende
Fragen:
1. Welche Korngröße hat der Schluff, aus dem der Löss
entsteht?
2. Wie hoch können die senkrechten Hänge aus Löss werden?
3. Welche Erdschicht ist die unterste auf dem abgebildeten
Profil?
