Geocache Description:

This cache takes you to Ince Blundell and the Lion Gate. Rawrr! This is my first cache to celebrate nearing a century of finds.

This cache is located a short walk from the Lion Gate - a Grade II listed building and one of the entrances to Ince Blundell Hall.

The Lion Gate: (visit link)

The gate itself is located approximately 300ft from the cache. Parking is available at the gate or a 10 minute walk away near Freshfield Animal Rescue.

Built between 1715-20, Ince Blundell Hall was the home of the Blundells of Ince, who became the Weld-Blundells until 1959. The hall is now a rest home.

Near the cache is a sign saying 'Private No Tipping' to deter fly tippers but the location of the cache is not private to walkers and entirely accessible via the small foot bridge.

Not recommended at night due to the proximity of still water. If you have a dog who likes to swim, you may need to keep them leashed as the water is very swampy.

Cache is a medium sized, blacked out sealed food-box containing:

Toy lion (needs a good home :) )
Pencil torch
PVC tape
A dreadful imitation watch from Dubai (broken)
Half-moon face TB
