To solve the puzzle you need to find clues on Whitmoor Common. The cache itself is hidden on a footpath outside the Common. Please note that Whitmoor Common is an SSSI (Site of Special Scientific Interest), because it is home to a rare species of spider, a scarce beetle and two plants which occur only rarely in Surrey. It also has a large variety of different types of habitat, and supports a large population of water voles and a strong breeding population of nightjar and woodlark birds. The clues may all be reached by established footpaths, and the squirrel asks that you keep to these. Besides, there are adders on the Common...! (Stay on the paths and you will never see them).
To complete the puzzle and find the cache, you will need to walk or cycle about 5 miles. The terrain over the common is quite suitable for cycles, although a little care is needed around Stage 2.
Visit each of the waypoints below, collecting the numbers indicated in the clues. You will definitely need pen and paper! The waypoints are listed in a convenient order for a pleasant stroll or cycle ride from the pub, but they can be visited in any order.
The final cache can be found at the following location:
N51 (A+H-E-T+G)(L+M-B-P).(B+D+N-U-S-P)(C-P+Q+U)(K+G+D-S-L)
W0 (F-T-R)(N+E-H+J-S-P).(T+M-E-U)(L+S-D-T)(A-P-G+T)
The cache contains only the logbook, so bring your own pen.
