With Geckoh's Whakatane Birdwalk cache GC1FQM1 now archived, it was time to get another cache into the area.
This part of the Nga Tapuwae o Toi loop track passes throught the Mokoroa Scenic reserve.This cache takes in the beautiful walking track known to locals as the Birdwalk. You can hear many different birds while walking this track, even the Kiwi has been known to be living in this area, and for this reason it is clearly stated on the signs at each end that dogs are not allowed on the Birdwalk track.

There are two ways into the track, and waypoints have been added for the carparks near the start of the walkway.
The cache is off the track about 5 metres, and requires a bit of scrambling throught the bush.
