Geocache Description:

Please go to stage 1 to answer question 1. A 2 1/2 mile walk around a pretty part of the New Forest with the emphasis being on the enjoyment of the walk.

This cache will give you a pleasant circular walk with only a couple of steep sections which should take about an hour and a half at most. Clues should all be easy to find as long as you look carefully and are not designed to be tricky so we hope that children should be able to do them too.
Enjoy the views over Somerley lakes on the way out and over the western Forest on the way back. If you are observant you may see some leftover reminders from WW2.
Foxes, deer, donkeys, ponies, pigs in the autumn and horned cattle can all be seen along this route, not to mention the abundance of birdlife including woodlarks. When it's hot keep a special eye out for lizards that like to sunbathe in sandy patches and , of course, adders!

Please count very carefully!!!

Stage 1 Number of white "Avon Valley Path" disks on the whole signpost = A

Stage 2 Number of "fingers" on the signpost = B

Stage 3 Metal number on post below danger sign = C

Stage 4 Post now gone missing so D=4 ! Original clue related to a post here.
Stage 5 Telegraph pole Find E in E.5.M

Stage 6 Number of ponds visible here = F

Stage 7 Number of pieces of wood making up the seat = G

Now take a seat, enjoy the view and work out the final location.

Special permissions have also been granted by the National Trust as it is on their land also and is an SSSI. Many thanks to the Projects manager for the New Forest National Trust who has given it.
