How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

This is a great view of Lay Dam. This can be reached by road or water. By road, look at the pictures for clues. By water, you're on your own.

Drive till the pavement ends. Walk uphill to a well partied place. Walk center left, look @ the base of a medium sized pine tree with a couple of scraggley trees around it.

This is not a typical park and grab due to the length of the drive but hopefully the prizes, the cache motel along with the view make the trip worth it.

I've been on several cache trips that were a lot of work to get to and the end result was nothing but a wet log and a smile. :(

This Cache is dedicated to my kids. The idea of geocaching thrills me. I thought it would thrill my kids as well, so I have taken them along with me on several finds... BUT…. One problem, after finding nothing but a wet log in a magnet key holder or a film canister with every hunt they have attended…My boys have lost interest…

The goal of this cache is to add more cache travel & geocoin motels in Chilton County and to build my kids interest along with rewarding cachers like them with something more than just a medicine bottle or 35 mil film canisters. This cache is a small coffee container– painted to blend in with the surroundings.

To start, within the box are items that the Eye_Spy family enjoys such as: cars, insects, cookies, beach finds, balls, Scooby-Doo, fishing tackle, hair accessories, army men, magnet, a penguin and of course… a medicine bottle that contains a log and a pencil.

Please if you take a toy leave a toy for my kids and yours.

p.s. wear your shoes.
