Geocache Description:

An easy multicache. You will need to be stealthy at stage one to find this one, but it is otherwise quite easy. You don't need to patronize the nearby establishment to find the cache, but you might enjoy it.

Recently, there have been a number of caches in the area which are purported to lead the cacher to a treat. They promote "Holes in the Wall" or "Local Landmarks" or something like that. Pfooey. There are various cache hiders... they have differing tastes. Often, I don't agree.

Should you choose to follow the recommendations of this series, you'll be taking a personal recommendation. You might not agree... but you'll have to find the cache first to find out. That's because, to meet the listing guidelines which prohibit any commercial mentions, I'm just going to be mysterious. Check it out, or just find a fairly easy cache, but miss out on another place that I think is extraordinary.

This cache is an easy two-stage multicache. The caching skill you're likely to need here is stealth, becuse the nearby establishment is very busy when it is in operation.

You won't find anything but pretzels to eat at this establishment, which specializes in unique libations, made in a very specific style. If you're a legal adult, you'll probably enjoy checking it out. If you aren't, you can't go in, but you can still find the cache. If you're hungry, there's a nearby Hole in the Wall, to which I am happy to add my recommendation.

Cachers whose conspicuous behavior causes this cache to be muggled will be picked on. No whining will be tolerated; I reserve the right to be arbitrary about this. Urban caching manners and serious stealth are appropriate for finding this cache, especially when the establishment is busy. The hide will be simple for any cacher, but away from muggle eyes. Wipe your feet before stepping inside to test the recommended establishment, should you choose to do so.

To find the final cache, do this simple mathematics, starting from the original coordinates:

  • The initial coordinates should bring you to the door of the gift shop associated with the establishment. Note the opening hour of the shop (on the days when it opens).Let that number be A.
  • Compute north and west offsets, as follows: N = ( A + 1 ) * 3. Add N to the thousandths of minutes of the north coordinate. W = ( A * 8 ) - 1. Subtract W from the thousandths of minutes of the west coordinate.
  • Cross carefully. Find the easy cache.

Visitors, please note that the establishment has a dress code: no headgear, no cutoffs, shirt must have sleeves. This place is widely known by enthusiasts for this style as the best of its kind in the Midwest.

Manuia!
