Aursjøen er en regulert innsjø på grensen mellom fylkene Oppland og Møre og Romsdal. Før reguleringen i 1953 var det tre innsjøer, Gautsjøen i sør (851 moh), Grynningen i midten (837,5 moh) og Aursjøen i nord (831 moh). Dammen utgjør hovedmagasinet til Aura kraftverk. Med fullt magasin er sjøen 30 km lang og rommer 561 millioner m³ vann. Høyeste regulerte vannstand er 856 moh. Laveste regulerte vannstand er for Gautsjøen 843,5 moh, for Grynningen 837,5 moh og for Aursjøen 827,3 moh.
Fra gammel tid har det vært en ferdselsåre mellom Aursjøen og Grynningen. I 2006 sto Oppland fylkeskommune for utgraving av boplasser fra steinalder og bronsealder i dette området.
KNT oppførte i 1893 sin første turisthytte ved Aursjøen. Hytta ble reist like ved vannkanten og hadde 10 sengeplasser. I 1910-1911 ble en ny hytte reist høyere opp i terrenget for å møte planene om oppdemming. Hytta ligger ved anleggsvei, tilgjengelig med privatbil, og er betjent.
Aursjøen is a regulated lake on the border between the counties of Oppland and Møre og Romsdal. Before the regulation in 1953, there were three lakes, Gautsjøen in the south (851 m), Grynningen in the middle (837.5 m) and Aursjøen in the north (831 m). The dam forms the main reservoir for Aura power plants. With full magazine is the sea 30 km long and contains 561 million cubic meters of water. The highest regulated water level is 856 meters. Low water levels are regulated Gautsjøen 843.5 m, for Grynningen 837.5 meters and 827.3 meters Aursjøen.
From ancient times there has been a passage between Aursjøen and Grynningen. In 2006 was Oppland County Council for excavation of settlements from the Stone Age and Bronze Age in this area.
KNT listed in 1893's first tourist cabin by Aursjøen. The cabin was built near the water's edge and had 10 beds. In 1910-1911, a new house built higher up in the terrain to meet the plans for damming. The cottage is situated on a road, accessible by car and is serviced.
