O Rio Mongaguá, que dá nome à cidade, nasce na Serra do Mar a uma altitude de 400m, onde segue em cachoeiras até o Poço das Antas. Tem 5.000m de extensão, atravessa o Bairro da Pedreira, o Centro de Mongaguá, e desemboca no Mar.
Mongaguá é um lugar agradável e sossegado para passar um final de semana. Não deixe de visitar a feira de artesanato, que fica bem perto do local indicado.
As coordenadas indicadas te levarão a uma importante avenida da cidade. Você encontrará um prédio da Prefeitura em uma esquina. Na fachada desse prédio encontra-se gravado o ano da construção do prédio.
