Geocache Description:

This easy cache is located at the Clay Springs Trailhead for the Maverick Motorized Trail, a 50 mile long OHV trail that starts here and ends in Pinetop.

You don’t need an OHV to find this cache.

It is located near a staging area for the Maverick Trail.

If you have an OHV and want to ride this trail, you can get a map at the Black Mesa Ranger District Office in Heber or the Lakeside Ranger District Office in Lakeside. The trail is well marked and suitable for all riders.

The turn to the trailhead can be easy to miss. Drive north on the paved road signed “Clay Springs”, from SR 260 for .08 mile. Look for a cattle guard on the right. The trailhead is about a half mile down the Forest Road. The FR is suitable for all types of vehicles, including those pulling trailers. If you are driving a large RV, you probably should walk in from the pavement.

You’re looking for a camouflaged tin.
