Geocache Description:

It was all Flyboys idea. He got me in a weak moment to agree to go with him and put out some caches . . . paddle caches that is, along Laughrey Creek! He just wanted my little tubes I know that was it! Since it was so hot out, I decided that being on the water wasn't such a bad idea and he would indeed need my help!

A trip down this farming valley in southwestern Indiana will make for an enjoyable experience and what better way to spend a humid, hot day than to get out on the water. Unfortunately, you will have to bring your own canoe, kayak, fishing boat, or any other type of water craft to access these caches! We started at Laughrey Creek Public Landing (GC2CDXV), near Hartford, IN and ended up at The Triple Whipple Bridge off 56, in Aurora, IN. You can put in or take out a canoe or kayak at either place.

This series of caches can only be reached by water. Some caches may be accessible by a motorboat or Ski-Do-type craft, but not all. If you do try to access any without a boat, you most accursedly will get wet!!! Any indication that it was reached by going through private property and your log will be immediately deleted! The containers are small and (hopefully) watertight and permanently attached so don’t forget your handy-dandy extraction tool. The caches were placed at 27 feet Cincinnati river stage level. Most should be above water at a river level of 28 feet or less (normal pool).

Hope you enjoy your time on the creek and, As Always,

Paddle On . . .
