Geocache Description:

You should, however, know a little more about Broken Arrow as you search for the items required for this series.

Harry & Jane Sells sold their allotments to the Broken ArrowTownsite Company in 1904.

BROKEN ARROW

The original survey and plat of the Broken Arrow townsite included a 120-acre tract of land which had been allotted by the Creek Nation to Stephen Franklin (F-3155) and 80 acres of land allotted to Harry Sells (F2616), both Freedmen. Forty acres of land on the South edge of Broken Arrow townsite were purchased later from Billy Atkins (C826), a Muscogee Indian. The townsite of Broken Arrow was surveyed and platted in 1902; however, warranty deeds could not be issued un 1903 because the lad was restricted by the Creek Nation.
