Canberra to Cooma Cache Trail –
Guises Creek.
The ACT is a popular destination for Geocachers due to the high density of caches in a
relatively small location, but the roads into or out of the ACT
are relatively sparsely populated with
geocaches.
This series is being placed to while away the tedium of the drive
to Cooma – or, indeed, the drive to Canberra and will
supplement the existing caches in the area.
None of the geocaches should be too difficult to find, or too
tricky to get to.
Located between Williamsdale and Michelago on Kelly Road, this
cache provides a chance to stretch the legs and enjoy the trains
(when they run) as they pass nearby. Two historic railway societies
currently use various parts of the Canberra to Cooma railway
line, Australian Railway
Historical Society (ACT Division) from Canberra to
Michelago and the Cooma
Monaro Railway for the line between Cooma and Chakola. For
further information on the services run by the societies please
check their websites for operational times and
destinations.
This geocache is on the left hand side of the road as you head
south towards Cooma.
Good luck, and we hope you enjoy this
series of geocaches on the road to Cooma.
