Geocache Description:

Cache is located in PA State Game Lands 314 along Rudd Rd (west side.) There is a place to pull off where the sign says there are no motor vehicles allowed.past that point. It's a very short walk into the woods to the cache only having to navigate through some light downed wood and a few shrubbery plants.

The cache is slightly longer than a 35mm film canister. Towards the end of July and early August there are plenty of delicious blackberries to be had along the roads in this area. When looking for a place to hide the caches we ended up enjoying snacking on berries in the area. Note: This is a hunting area during specific hunting seasons (usually from Sept 1 to the end of May) so I recommend wearing orange during that time. The coordinates were averaged several times and had a +/- of 12 ft under the tree cover at the time of placement.

Added note: You probably won't find blackberries in this immediate area but along the roadsides of the gamelands 314 are plenty (in season.) Some have said there is poison ivy (at most of the gameland caches.) Not all 3-leaved plants are poison ivy but you should assume they could be. We went through these bushes a lot in sleeveless shirts and my husband had shorts on and neither of us got poison ivy. Maybe we are some of the lucky ones that don't get it. The mosquitoes and sometimes big flies are bad in PA woods. Wear repellent.
