Forget Bobby Flay, Guy Fieri or even
Paula Deen – we challenge you and
your chili to a Cook OFF Caching Event…
When: September 25 from 10:30am –
1:30pm
Where: Melinda Park – Mission Viejo. (Melinda
Park is located at 28951 Melinda Road, Mission Viejo. Additional
parking is available on Santa Pola.)
Why: Why Not… We all think we have the best
Chili in the world- now it’s time to have it judged by
others.
Judging will take place between 11:00 – 12:30 with the
Winning Chili being announced at 1:00p.m.
discovered some secret ingredient that we have never heard of. Now
it’s time for you to put you chili where our mouth is and
make up a batch to be judged by your fellow cachers.
Now for all you cachers who don’t
do chili or have that winning recipe we could always use some side
dishes, desserts and beverages to wet our whistle.
If we are making chili what should we bring?
For those interested in making chili for this challenge, please
prepare a pot of chili. [NO, we are not going by the ICS
(International Chili Society) rules.] There will be electricity for
crockpots. It is suggested that you
pre-cook your chili and transport to ensure ease of use at the
event.
If we are not making chili what should we bring?
For those not making chili, you can still take part. Please bring a
sense of adventure, a willingness to try new chili and a side dish
of some sort to share with others. This is a “pot-luck”
type of event.
Please note in your “will attend” log if you are
partaking in the Chili Challenge or list the item(s) that you might
be bringing.
