Turtle Cove Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

neco_cachero: This was my very first cache hid when I started geocaching about two years ago. I already moved from Manhattan. I archive this cache to give the opportunity to another local geocacher to put a cache here. The area is really good for geocaching, fishing and camping.

Geocache Description:

The first stop in the Geo-Anglers Series. Search the area for a regular size camo painted Rubbermaid lock-n-lock container.

This is not a very visited area of the lake but some stealth might be needed to avoid local fishermen and campers.

HINT: Eight Hunter Hope

We want to combine both of our favorites hobbies: Fishing and Geocaching. This is one of our favorites fishing spots here in the Manhattan area. We call it Turtle Cove because there is a lot of snapping turtles in the channel and they love catfish bait too.

Initial contents includes a logbook and pen and a few fishing goodies like lures and bobbers.

Pottawatomie State Fishing Lake #2 has a decent local fish species population. Try fishing for channel catfish and largemouth bass. Sunfish are a pest that will steal your bait but they are fun to fish with the right hook size.

Congrats to JBnW on the FTF.
