From the mid 17th century to the 18th century the Ironmills Park was the site of two Iron founderies - hence the name- which supplied iron products to the Duke of Buccleuch. They were later converted for the use as a mill and then as an engine house for the towns water supply.
The park is surrounded by trees and with the river Esk flowing it is a nice place for some peace and quite or to let you dog run wild as ours does with her frizbee.
WELL DONE MAIAWALLI FTF.
