Geocache Description:

One of a series of caches set on Balmashanner Hill, known in Farfar as Bummie or Boamie.

The viewpoint indicator and shelter here were donated by local businessman and financier James Anderson in 1929.

A poignant piece of vandalism on the bottom left corner of the indicator serves as a reminder of the contribution and sacrifice during the Battle of Monte Cassino in 1944 of the Polish troops who had been previously stationed in Forfar.

A sort of unofficial Lest We Forget.

Cache is a 470cl lock and lock box.
