Buttermilk Falls is part of the Mattatuck Blue Blaze trails. This is the second cache in the vicinity. Buttermilk Falls Excursion GC1XJJA being the other. This area is beautiful. I often bring Barley dog down here and take pictures of the falls while he plays in the water.

The cache is a quick multi. I rated this a 3 because of the falls and the steepness of the trails. Both stages are off trail. Stage one is a cammo'd film canister with final coords in and on canister. Stage two is a cammo'd lock n' lock. Original contents include three trackables and a scratch off lottery game card for the FTF. (if you win, will ya split it with me?) If you have not done Buttermilk Falls Excursion, I would suggest doing that one first. Then take the high road to stage 1. This area is always in need of clean up. So bring a bag with you if you dont mind. During summer, you can park in one of the pulloffs on Lane Hill Rd. During winter, Lane Hill is closed but the area is still opened. However you will need to park at the top or bottom of the hill.
