Waterville has three covered bridges, one of which you will get to
know well as you search for this cache.
Spanning the North Branch of the Lamoille River is the Jaynes
Bridge. Over the village-side entrance, there is a sign that reads
Kissing Bridge. I believe that many covered bridges were called
kissing bridges back in the day when people were more circumspect
about kissing in public. Passing through a covered bridge gave
young lovers a few moments of semi-privacy to express their
affection. Perhaps those no longer young who retained their senses
of romance and adventure took advantage as well.
Feel free to honor the custom as you search for a preform.
FTF honors go to RSAKVT.
