This cache has been archived.

fishy12: I had a look for an alternative location near to the bridge as it looks like this cache keeps taking a swim. There were no suitable places due to rubbish and doggie doo so archiving this one. Thanks to those who visited

Geocache Description:

Just off Cycle route 43, a pleasant and mainly level cycle path from Swansea to Builth.
You are looking for a small cliplock container with room for small swaps.
Please take extreme care at GZ as the road is narrow and also searching as cache can be easily displaced. Not recommended for kids.
If the cache takes a dive please let me know!

Ynys-tanglws Bridge is said to be named after Hopcyn ap Tomos' mother and daughter who were called Tanglwst.
Hopcyn ap Tomos (c1330-1408) was a wealthy landowner who lived in nearby Ynysforgan with an interest in poetry and literature. He was deeply learned and assembled a large collection of manuscripts. He was interested in the bardic traditions, in divining the future and was a Master of Brut, a body of Welsh prophetic lore.
He was called to Carmarthen by Owain Glyndwr in 1403 to prophesy what was going to happen in the ensuing conflict.
A memorial to him stands in nearby Ynystawe Park.
