Geocache Description:

Herman's Hill Walking Trail. A fantastic place to experience a small part of the Big Desert. After finding the cache you can decide if you want to go on the 3km loop walk that leads to a viewing platform with fantastic view of the area. Really worth a visit.

A 200ml snap-lid container with room for small swaps and logbook.

Easy for 2WD. Turn off from the Nhill - Rainbow road is signposted, then you have a 9km drive on an all weather road..And another signpost pointing you into the park. If you have a van it would be better to park near the signpost into the park, becasue once you get among the trees I dont think you would have any luck turning a van.

There is a big board with maps and information at the parking area. If you call in at the Nhill information centre they have small brochures that you can take with you.. sadly none of those at the trail itself.

If you decide to go on the walk, there are arrows, and posts telling you how far it is to the top, and there are also covered information boards all along the way... just dont open them if you are frightened of spiders! ;-). An easy walk, not steep at all despite the fact that you end up at a fantastic lookout.

And one last bit of info.. trust the "4WD only" sign on the road inside the park.. there is really deep sand along the 4WD track before the top of the hill... Great fun for kids to play in if you take that way back from the viewing platform. ;-)
