Geocache Description:

[ENG] The most peculiar feature of the Teringi Mire stretching out to the Latvian border is the presence of the north-south directed bog islands. These islands were formerly used as shelters and a sledding was going to Latvia across them. The hiking path with sections of wooden track in swampy places guides hikers from one island to another. In the southeastern part of the bog there is a nice Lake Alatsi (5 ha) with floating embankments. The entire area is distant from human settlements. Also a great part of the forests has remained unmanaged due to the lack of access roads. This has contributed to the welfare of wildlife, including mammals such as wild boars, beavers and moose. The name of one of the islands is Ussisaar Island ("Snake's Island"winking smiley, so called by the local people, as many vipers can be encountered there right at the hiking path.
The 4.5 km-long boardwalk features several sights of interest and makes one acquainted with the mire and Alatsi Lake. The nature is real wilderness with only slight traces of human activity.

Cache is hidden to the triplet of trees (fir, birch and pine) and is findable in winter.

Parking lot is at coordinates N 57° 58,967´ E 25° 33,505´

[EST] Alatsi (Nava) järv asub Teringi soo kagupoolses osas, selle pindala ulatub 5,5 hektarini. Järv saab oma vee sademetest ning rabaveest, väljavool on idaküljelt Tündre oja kaudu. Alatsi järvest on leitud haruldast ujuriliiki Cybister lateralimarginalis.
Järve kaldal laudteel seistes paistab teisel pool vett suur umbes kahe meetri kõrgune kuhil. See on Eesti suurima närilise kopra töö.

Parklas koordinaatidel N 57° 58,967´ E 25° 33,505´
on RMK lõkkekoht koos katusealusega, parklast edasi sõites jõuate Nava tallu, kus toimuvad Nava laval suvelavastused.
Mõnusat matka ja head otsimist ning leidmist!
