Geocache Description:

This cache was placed to mark the reformation of the 1st Hopeman Scout Group in 2010.
Parking is available by the beach, the path starts at the second car park. Follow the path up to the top of the steps then round, please don't try & go as the crow flies! Alternatively, you can approach from the top at the back of the primary school where we meet weekly.
There are several other caches to do nearby, too.

The cache is hidden near the cairn which shows the origins of the early residents of Hopeman. From here you get a wonderful view of the area. Look out for Burghead, the school, park, skate park, harbour, beach, beach huts, the Black Isle across the sea, dolphins & seals, Hopeman Lodge (big, yellow building overlooking the sea)...
Take a seat on the bench which was donated by the staff & regulars from the Braemou Inn in Hopeman.
You are looking for a round white container with a blue lid. It had lots of Beaver Scout related items inside including the logbook & pencil. It was also the starting place for our Beaver TB who we hope to follow on his travels round the world, and a Scouting geocoin belonging to one of our leaders. (Update - unfortunately the Beaver TB went missing after travelling over 31000 miles worldwide. Such a pity when this happens.)
If you are involved with Scouting in any way please tell us in the log as we would love to hear your stories.
Please hide the cache carefully when you have finished so it doesn't get muggled because we will all be very disappointed if it does! Thank you.
