Interlude II Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

2Wheel'in: I found it[:O]..............very hard to believe that Oceanic815 (with over 5500 Finds) couldn't find this cache. So I went to check on it this morning...sure nuff - it's gone - again[:(]. Cache thieves suck, and forgetful cachers aren't so nice either...sorry about the lost Geocoin. Many thanks though to Oceanic815 for logging the DNF. I decided not to replace the container, the cache is almost 2 years old and has had a nice run. It was placed in 2010 (along with 2 other caches) in support of the FCPA Summer Geocache Program, and it served that purpose well. The location is rather exposed....especially during the warmer months when the park is heavily visited. Big thank you to all who've hunted "Interlude II", I've enjoyed reading your logs.

Geocache Description:

A simple little cache...placed at the request of, and with permission from the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA), in support of their 2010 Geocaching Summer Camp Program (cache is permanent). Wide gravel path, nice views, and only a very slight elevation change at the cache.

This cache is hidden in Lake Fairfax Park, a FCPA Park with a wealth of attractions, as well as peaceful green spaces. It complies fully with the geocaching guidelines released by the FCPA.

Interlude (n) - 1. pause, break, pause in the action, interval, interim; 2. intermezzo, interval, break, rest, pause, intermission (Encarta ® World English Dictionary © & (P). Or in this case, a pretty spot to stop and admire the lake view, and hunt for a geocache placed between two other geocaches!

Begin your hike from the parking area (waypoint provided), and follow the gravel path to where it curves and starts around the lake shoreline. It’s an easy hike suitable for kids of all ages, with just the slightest change in elevation at the cache. Round trip distance is just about 0.4 miles. The cache container is just 10 feet off the trail, and is hidden in a very traditional manner. The location sees lots of foot, and bicycle traffic, so please exercise “Muggle Awareness” when retrieving the container, and replace both the container and the "object" that holds it exactly as found.

Last, but not least: No thorns, no ticks, no poison ivy! It's a "small" not a "micro" but there is no pen/pencil...bring your own.

Fairfax County Parks are open daily, dawn to dusk, please do NOT hunt this cache at night or any other time the park is closed.
