Geocache Description:

A nice park and grab, in fact park at the given coordinates. Kinoulton is a village that goes back to Saxon times and until living memory was very much an agricultural village. A frequent feature of villages that had livestock was a 'Pinfold' or 'Penfold'. It was a place where animals that had escaped from fields could be rounded up and kept until their owners could collect them -the days before wire fences! Invariably the owner paid a small fine to have their animal released from the pinfold. The pinfold here exists in name only but this lane was indeed the site of Kinoulton's pinfold.
