OReviewer: Hello,

As there's been no response to the earlier note, I am forced to archive this listing.

If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the near future, just contact me email, including the GC Code, and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Thanks,

Geocache Description:

A historical place in Port Republic....

This little cemetery is all that is left of a settlement that existed here over 150 years ago....

The settlement was an African-American settlement consisting of mainly the Boling, Smith and Lee families. A large number of these settlers fought in the Civil War. There is not much known about who is actually buried in this cemetery, as wives and children were often buried with the head of the household, but were not given gravestones.

There were about a half-dozen homes at the site in 1874, according to town maps, but not enough people stayed to keep the small community going. The last Boling family member left the community in the mid-1910s.

As for the cache, it should be super easy to find. A small container with log only, please bring your own writing utensil and replace the cache as found!
