The Cache
The cache is a small camoflaged lock and lock. I had a tough time getting consistent coordinates so I have added some really specific hints if you have trouble finding the cache.
The Adventure
The devil went down to Maine, he was looking for a First to Find.
He was in a bind 'cos he was way behind: he was willin' to make a deal.
When he came across this young man followin a GPSr and playin' it hot.
And the devil jumped upon a hickory stump and said: "Boy let me tell you what:
"I bet you didn't know it, but I'm a geocacher too.
"And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you.
"Now you’re a pretty good cacher, boy, but give the devil his due:
"I bet a GPSr of gold against your soul, 'cos I think I'm better than you."
The boy said: "My name's 98XJSport and it might be a sin,
"But I'll take your bet, your gonna regret, 'cos I'm the best that's ever been."
98XJSport you check your batteries and load up your PQs hard.
'Cos hells broke loose in Maine and the devil deals the cards.
And if you win you get this shiny GPSr made of gold.
But if you lose, the devil gets your soul.
The devil powered up his unit and he said: "I'll start this show."
And fire flew from his fingertips as he selected geocache mode.
And he entered ‘find the nearest cache’ and it made an evil hiss.
Then a band of demons joined in and it sounded something like this.
“TNLN SL TFTC, TNLN SL TFTC, TNLN SL TFTC, TNLN SL TFTC”
When the devil finished, 98XJSport said: "Well you're pretty good ol' son.
"But sit down in that chair, right there, and let me show you how its done."
Found the cache hidden deep in the hollow with a dark storm brewing. Water was already trickling eerily down the sides, so I made the find and retreated to my vehicle before the skies opened up and made the Devil's Den wetter than it already was. TFTC and for bringing me to see a cool place not far from home. I actually fished this brook years ago with friends but never knew where it was. Its always great to be able to rediscover a "lost" spot like that.
The devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat.
He laid that golden GPSr on the ground at 98XJSport's feet.
98XJSport said: "Devil just come on back if you ever want to try again.
"I told you once, you son of a gun, I'm the best that's ever been."
