A walk along an easy path - its properly surfaced most of the way - to a hidden pond and a hidden cache.
This was more like it. After an expedition into places unknown, we finally found our way back onto the track we had been intending to follow and found a beautiful little (private) fishing pond just off the trail.
The trail starts around 100 metres from the parking spot. You can either walk through the gate and then turn left at the crossroads in the path (only a few metres through the gate). This bit of the trail is unsurfaced, so you could also walk alongside the road (just be careful).
But either way after about 100m, turn right and follow the path, and once you've found the cache, keep walking. It's a beautiful part of the world.
The cache is a 1 litre plastic box with lock-down lid which is full of swaps.
Of course, if you are feeling adventurous, from the parking spot, you could also go straight on to find (GC2DEJ6 - At the end of the Road to Nowhere) or even turn right and follow the Old Post Road towards Shiplaw and more caches.
