Liverbest not Wurst Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

-allenite-: Greetings,

I'm archiving your cache due to complaints. It appears that it may have been placed on private property without permission or that the situation of that permission has changed. If you can determine that it was not on private property or permission was obtained, and want to re-establish the cache, just let me know and we can put the cache back in active status.

Thank you,

-allenite-

Geocache Description:

This is a sandwich sized "lock n lock" hidden on private property with the permission of the owners. It is not wheelchair accessable but should be an easy smiley.

This cache is located on the property where Driers Butcher Shop used to sell their goods. It was not uncommon to see cars lined up both sides of U.S. 12 as folks were inside buying ring baloney, liverbest, and Driers hams. The smokehouse and butcher shop is located in downtown Three Oaks, and all business is now conducted there. Driers Butcher Shop has been in operation since the end of the Civil War and is recognized as a National Historic Site. We wanted to place a cache here as Driers is as much a part of the true fabric of Three Oaks history as the Dewey Cannon and the Featherbone Factory. The owners were gracious enough to allow us to place this cache on their property so please be respecful of the area. If you visit the downtown store, please tell them you found the cache.

Congrats to Janncubsfan for the First to find and the gift certificate.

We will occasionally stick another certificate in this cache so you never know what you will find here.

There is a fabulous First to Find prize of a $5.00 gift certificate to Driers in the container. I personally recommend the ring baloney, the ham, or the hot dogs and sausages. Here are the coords for the downtown store N 41 48.006 W 086 36.633 Stop in and say hi, and thank them for letting us cache on their property.
