Geocache Description:

There is the saying: "Boys will be boys."

On doing a bit of geocaching in the forest on Friday and realizing how amazing Newlands Forest really is, I came across this public intersection by the river. Immediately my boyish instinct joined hands with my newly acquired hobby and I saw the huge potential this place had to offer for a cache. I was quite amazed there were no caches here already.

It was not long before a plan was formed, a hiding place was found, and I was a bit wet!

This cache is close to a main track, although a small amount of climbing about may be required. The cache itself is in no danger of being seen by the public, but because its in a rather public area you might have spectators.

A few tips:

The title: "In hindsight" has no philosophical or emotional meaning here. It relates entirely to what you will have to do in order to discover the cache at the end.

You might decide to take your shoes off when you get to the location - there is the small possibility they may get wet.

To set this cache I had to be a boy, and to find it you will have to think like a little boy too.

[On request I have increased the terrain rating to 3.5 and the difficulty to 3. The difficulty of this cache is significantly affected by the weather, and the ratings should therefore vary accordingly. Of course I am not going to keep editing this page in accordance with the weather. Thus the following should be fair:

In dry weather (including previous week or so):
Difficulty - 2.5; terrain - 3

During or shortly after a significant rainy spell:
Difficulty - 3.5 terrain - 4.
