Halfway up the side of a previously unclaimed hill near the southeast side of theElkcreek Lake section of the Knobstone Trail. You can attack it directly from the west for a challenge, or take the easy way from the northwest of the cache.
There are a number of ways to come at this cache, and none of them are necessarily flat terrain. However, the easiest way up is probably to go off the trail at N 38° 38.696', W 085° 56.752'.
I conceived this cache because three events converged for my dad, Knobhiker: his 500th find, his 52nd birthday (I hope he's not loathe for me to share that), and his 3rd anniversary of caching. He wasn't sure which cache he would find for this achievement, so I thought I would give him an option as my birthday present to him. The cache is a traditional .30 ammo can located along a beautiful view in a classic hiding spot. Oh, and it's directly west of his very first find. There's no particular theme for the contents, but I stocked it with interesting trinkets and useful trail items. I hope the box and the view are enjoyed by at least a few more people after Knobhiker gets to it.
