Geocache Description:

Pasco

The coordinates listed are not the final coordinates. See below to find the cache

The Pasco family goes quite a ways back. This is not located in the town of Thurman but it is still an interesting cemetery. I initially ran across this one after a failed attempt to hike up Wakely Mountain due to my back going out. While driving the Highland Ranger around, we came down this road and happened to see it. The neatest thing we found besides the cemetery itself was the benchmark that is located in the steps leading up to it. You will need to find this BM to help you with the cache.

To find the cache:

To locate the cache you will need to find the benchmark at coordinates listed as the I.P. Do the SIMPLE calculations and replace the results in for the letters to find the final container.

N43°34.ABC W073°55.DEF

  • A=Find the elevation noted on the BM and the Date of the BM. Subtract the last digit of the former from the last digit of the latter.
  • B=Find the elevation noted on BM. Add 2nd and 4th number together
  • C=Find the only two-digit number on the BM. Add the two numbers together.
  • D=Find the date of the BM. Subtract the first number from the second number.
  • E=Find the date of the BM. Use the last digit.
  • F=Find the elevation noted on the BM. Add the 3rd and the 4th number together and then subtract the 1st.
