For the 4th year in a row, manly men from all over the west have gathered for a weekend of estrogen-free camping. As is the tradition, a cache was left to commemorate the event.
To get to the trialhead and campground you take a dirt road that crosses the creek, so a high clearance vehicle is recommended. From there it's a 1.5 mile hike to the lake, mostly uphill.
The cache is hidden near one of the main trails that circumambulates the lake. If you are manly enough to backpack in, there are some campsites along the east side of the lake. Watch for bears, one tore into some boy scouts' camp while we were there.
