You are looking for a camoed matchstick container. Please bring your own pencil. Please leave the container hidden where it is and just remove the cap to take out the log for signing.
You may have noticed the old foundation surrounded by large rocks on your way from the parking lot to the cache. We assume it is the remnants of a tuberculosis sanitarium that we’ve been told was near this lovely little lake many years ago.
McNaughton Lake is one of our favorite north woods spots. It’s a nice peaceful spot where you can boat, fish, or hike most of the year. If you visit the area during winter, there is a nice cross-country ski trail that circles the lake and has several more loops that connect to it at the north end.
We hope you’ve enjoyed the drive through nice piney woods, the lake view, and also the other caches we’ve placed along the way in to the lake.
