The old Bluffton pool used to be right where this cache
is. I never really wanted to swim in the pool. Most of us wanted to
swim in the quarry. Stairs lead down to the quarry from the pool,
and to swim there you first had to pass your "quarry test." This
was a short unassisted swim to a floating raft and back to shore.
It seemed so far back then, but we managed to muster up enough
courage to pass the test. It was a big accomplishment for a 10 year
old!
They also host a trout derby here each year, and I've seen some
big fish pulled out of this quarry. I definitely enjoy walking
here, it brings back lots of memories.
***Be sure to find "Flick and Dip"
(GC207RM)
while you're at the park, its a cool one.***
